INTERVIEW: Troian Bellisario (Spencer) from Pretty Little Liars

January 9th, 2012

2011 ABC Family 25 Days Of Christmas Winter Wonderland

I am so happy Pretty Little Liars is back on TV. After last week’s stellar mid-season premiere, I am excited to see where the season goes. What are the girls going to do with A’s cell phone? When will we find out who A is? And what about all the romantic relationships that keep getting affected by A? I recently had the chance to chat with Troian Bellisario (who plays Spencer) about the upcoming season, the Spencer/Toby relationship and Spencer’s confrontation with Garrett in the premiere.

REVIEW: The Secret Circle “Darkness”

January 6th, 2012

the-secret-circle-darkness-episode-10-15

The Secret Circle returned from its long winter hiatus with an overload of dark magic and a new roadblock to Dawn and Charles’ fool proof plan to world Chance Harbor domination.

Cassie
Poor Cassie is struggling with the discovery of her dark magic. She eventually turns to Diana’s grandmother, Kate, who is the latest of the mythical Elders to drop by to “visit relatives.” These people may be powerful, but they are not subtle. Kate immediately senses that Cassie is struggling with her dark magic and offers to help. I’m pretty sure every single person in Chance Harbor was taught the wrong definition of help as a child because they ALL do it wrong. Seriously, why bother trusting anyone? They’re all such turncoats. Kate tricks Cassie into traveling with her into a random deserted part of the forest so they can do a spell together. I guess Cassie was never taught about “Stranger Danger” as a child either. Never wander into the woods alone with an almost complete stranger, kids. You’ll end up performing a weird ritual and then being buried alive.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “The New Deal”

January 6th, 2012

The New Deal

E here again (finally!) for some more Vampire Diaries with “The New Deal.” (What, what FDR.)

We begin with Bonnie traipsing through the witch house and she hears some hushed, indistinguishable talking (this sort of whispery voice crap always gives me the creepies). She comes across some coffins and opens one. Hey, it’s Klaus (yep, this is a dream). And he’s holding the witch necklace.

INTERVIEW: Jane Levy (Tessa) from Suburgatory

January 4th, 2012

0000_28129

Suburgatory is one of those shows that I was intrigued by from the start, but it took a little while to build and win me over. Now that it has, I can’t get enough of it every week. It stars Jeremy Sisto (of Clueless fame) as George, a single father who moves is daughter into the suburbs for a better life. The daughter in question is Tessa, played by Jane Levy. Tessa hates the idea of the suburbs at first but is seeming to warm up to it as the season continues. I love her and George’s friend/parent relationship and the hilarious cast of characters that live in ‘Suburgatory.’ Tonight’s episode centers around Tessa getting her license and Dalia, well, not getting her license. I recently had the chance to chat with Jane Levy, about tonight’s episode “Driving Miss Dalia,” what’s coming up and what’s been her favorite moment on the show so far.

Jane By Design Style Challenge: Blog 7

Thanks everyone for sticking with me through these challenges. This is the last one! And kind of a cool one actually. We were supposed to take a look from one of the character’s and tell you all how to “get the look.” I chose Jane, because obviously she has a great sense of style. The look I chose from the premiere I thought it encapsulated her taste in fashion. Keep reading to see what I found so that you can get the look.

Jane By Design Style Challenge: Blog 6

January 4th, 2012

It’s the penultimate fashion challenge for Jane By Design, which premiered last night! I hope you all tuned in! Anyway, this assignment was quite interesting. In our original Donovan and Decker trunk, there were a few small bags of pretzels. I had no idea what could possibly involve using pretzels and fashion in the same sentence and then I got my challenge. We are supposed to use the pretzels as inspiration to create something amazing. I was honestly stumped. I’m not great at creating things and I didn’t want to dig out the fabric markers and start drawing on something. That my friends, can’t be reversed. So I started thinking…maybe I could create a “look” that is inspired by pretzels and so I did! Check out the results below.

Jane By Design Style Challenge: Blog #5

January 3rd, 2012

Well, there’s only a few more challenges left in order to finish up the Jane By Design Style Challenge (and boy, has it been a challenge). For number five, we had to take a plain blouse and style it for work and then for going out in the evening. I decided to go simple. I used the same necklace for both, and then classed it up for work using a nice sweater and then dressed it up for the evening with a long black skirt. Check out the results below.

INTERVIEW: Vanessa Marano (Bay) and Katie LeClerc (Daphne) from Switched at Birth

January 3rd, 2012

Vanessa and Katie

Tonight is the return of another favorite ABC Family show, Switched at Birth. At first, I thought the concept was a bit overdone, but the show quickly won me over with its sweet stories and interesting integration of sign language. The Vazquez and Kennish family have been forced together due to the ‘switched’ circumstances, and I can’t wait to see how all of their relationships develop even further. The premiere tonight is great, and I am excited for everyone to see it! I recently got the chance to chat with Vanessa Marano (who plays Bay) and Katie LeClerc (who plays Daphne) about the big premiere, the love triangle their characters are in and why everyone should tune in tonight.

INTERVIEW: Shay Mitchell (Emily) from Pretty Little Liars

January 2nd, 2012

If you couldn’t tell from my plethora of posts today, Pretty Little Liars is finally back tonight! Emily’s story has been one of my favorite of the series, and I just love watching how she’s changed and grown since day one. She’s gone through such an emotional journey with her sexuality and her family coming to terms with it and she’s evolved into a new girl who is comfortable in her own skin. Of course, all the credit to what Emily has become goes to the talented actress who plays her, Shay Mitchell. I recently had the chance to chat with Shay about Emily’s new-found confidence, what to expect in the big premiere and what’s coming up with Emily’s love life.
