REVIEW: The Secret Circle “Sacrifice”

March 30th, 2012

The witch hunters are back…and this time they brought demons! Sound the alarm! Quick, head to the nearest abandoned house to meet up with your circle of witches and then rush to save your helpless father only to learn that he’s had magic to save himself all along! That John Blackwell is a tricky one.

Blackwell versus Witch-Hunters
Turns out Blackwell is just as corrupted as we all suspected. 16 years ago, Blackwell planned to summon demons and use their powers to defeat the witch-hunters. But now the tables have turned and the witch-hunters have their own turncoat witch to help them summon demons. Anyone else feel like the witch that’s secretly helping the witch-hunters is Ethan? We haven’t seen him in a while and we know he’s worked with the witch-hunters in the past to try to kill Blackwell.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Murder of One”

March 30th, 2012

Good one TVD peeps, good one! We’re back to basics with “The Murder of One.”

We begin with Elena bringing food to Alaric, and Damon answering the door…and being shifty. Which isn’t anything that unusual. Elena knows something is up, but she lets it go for the most part which is sort of out of character. Anywho, she leaves. Stefan, Damon, and Alaric have become woodworkers and are making a small mess of fancy stakes. Alaric then starts to pack it in so that he can go turn his crazy, murdering self in. The boys are like, nah, don’t do that. So, he doesn’t. Man they have got some power this morning.

REVIEW: Make It Or Break It “Smells Like Winner”

March 27th, 2012

The Rock girls are back! Last night’s big premiere of Make It Or Break it did not disappoint. It set up some very interesting drama for the upcoming season and introduced a few new characters who may pose a threat to the Rock girls making the Olympic team. The girls are still holding onto their very strong team mentality but the new coach in town (the one at the training center, rest assured Sasha is still around) wants them to let go of that in order to move towards the future. It seems as if some drama is brewing. And I’m excited!

INTERVIEW: Cassie Scerbo (Lauren) from Make It Or Break It

March 26th, 2012

It has been a really long time coming but one of my favorite ABC Family dramas, Make It Or Break It, is finally back. My second passion in life is gymnastics and when this show came on several years ago, I was ridiculously excited. And I have enjoyed every ounce of drama, romance, teen angst and gymnastics since the premiere. The show underwent a lot of changes last season — Emily (one of the main girls) left because she got pregnant, Kaylie suffered from an eating disorder, Payson recovered from her back surgery but not without falling for her coach (Sasha), and Lauren continued with her manipulative ways but we learned there might be more to her story than we know. At the end of the season, the girls (minus Emily) managed to put everything aside and come out on top at the World Championships. This year, the scenery has changed (the Rock girls are moving on up to the National Training Center), there are new girls added to the mix and everyone will struggle to reach their ultimate goal of making the Olympic team. I can’t wait! I recently had the chance to chat with Cassie Scerbo, who plays Lauren, about what’s coming up for her this season, new alliances and even a possible love interest.

REVIEW: The Secret Circle “Curse”

March 24th, 2012

This week’s Secret Circle taught the kids of Chance Harbor some important life lessons. Forget sex education, just have your shady maybe-evil father tell you that your first time sexual encounter with the guy you’re destined to be with has spawned a curse that will kill another member of your circle of witches. That ought to put a stop to future sexcipades. In other news, bitches witches be crazy.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Break On Through”

March 23rd, 2012

I’m going to be honest; I thought this episode, ‘Break on Through’ was just aight. Not a ton happened, and what did was not that exciting.

We begin with Alaric getting an MRI. He’s looking at himself in the mirror in the MRI machine and the evil version of himself is peering at him. Weirdness. Dr. Fell and Elena are talking about how Dr. Fell just wants to help him because he is out of control right now. Of course nothing comes back weird on the MRI because it’s some mystical voodoo. He takes the ring off because I guess he doesn’t want the evil all up in his piece.

REVIEW: The Secret Circle “Lucky”

March 16th, 2012

The Secret Circle is back…and actually better than ever! Maybe absence actually does make the heart grow fonder or maybe I’m just finally getting on board with the story that the Secret Circle writers are trying to tell. Either way, episode 16 was great.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “1912”

March 16th, 2012

E back again for some more TVD – this time with “1912.” I was worried as I had been once before that this was going to be a “swim team” (See: http://thetvchick.com/flashback-fridays/flashback-friday-boy-meets-world-week-7/) episode, but once again I was pleasantly surprised. Not my favorite episode, but some interesting plot development…if you know what I mean, and I think you do.
