FROM THE SET: INTERVIEW: Mehcad Brooks (T.K.) from Necessary Roughness

May 31st, 2012

Necessary Roughness - Season 2

Necessary Roughness is back for season two next Wednesday at 10 PM, in what I’m sure is going to be a great summer season on USA Network. What’s to come for TK? What about Dr. Dani and Matt’s new relationship? I recently had the chance to visit the set of the show, where the cast shared some very interesting information about the season to come. Mehcad Brooks (who plays TK) talked candidly about TK’s upcoming struggle with PTSD, joked around with the media on set about TK’s sometimes questionable behavior, and gave us insight into who TK is based on in the actual football world.

WATCH: The Bunheads Pilot

May 30th, 2012

EMMA DUMONT, KAITLYN JENKINS, SUTTON FOSTER, BAILEY BUNTAIN, JULIA GOLDANI TELLES

Bunheads is Amy Sherman-Palladino’s new show, and it premieres on June 11th at 9 PM on ABC Family. It is lovely and charming and has a very Gilmore Girls-esque feel. Bunheads is the tale of a Las Vegas showgirl, who impulsively marries a man, moves to his sleepy coastal town, and takes an uneasy role at her new mother-in-law’s dance school. It stars Sutton Foster and Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore!) and lucky for you readers, you can watch the pilot right now! Keep reading to see how.

FROM THE SET: INTERVIEW: Scott Cohen (Nico) from Necessary Roughness

May 28th, 2012

Necessary Roughness

Necessary Roughness returns next week to USA Network, kicking off their summer full of amazing shows. Necessary Roughness, for those who need to catch up (you still have time!) centers around Dr. Dani (played by the lovely Callie Thorne) who becomes the team psychologist for the New York Hawks football team. Her main client is TK (played by the super talented Mehcad Brooks) who at the end of last season suffered a life threatening injury. Add into the mix Nico, a former Navy Seal, who “takes care of things” for just about everyone involved in the team. Nico is played by Scott Cohen, who many will recognize from Gilmore Girls (he played Max Medina). At the end of last season, Nico finds himself in a bit of a conundrum with his personal life. I recently had the chance to visit the amazing set of Necessary Roughness, and Scott Cohen chatted with the media on set about what’s to come for Nico this season, how his relationship with TK is going to change a bit, and a possible love interest.

REVIEW: The Secret Circle “Family”

May 11th, 2012

Family

It’s been a rough year for everyone in Chance Harbor, but in the season finale we finally get to see our favorites triumph over the evil John Blackwell. Oh, and Eben was there too. Vengeance!

“The One Ring” AKA the Crystal Skull
Anyone else get some creepy Gollum vibes off of the reactions to the crystal skull? (Clearly, Adam had some issues in that department but we’ll get to that later) Even though Cassie and Diana both learned at prom last week that their dear old dad is a crazy evil pervert, they decided to still meet up with him in the middle of nowhere to build their crystal skull. The group heads to a random deserted beach where the girls take turns tossing some rocks into the ocean then Cassie hops in to pull out the creepiest looking non-skull in the history of this show. Thankfully, it ends up shrinking down into an actual skull, so we don’t have to worry about Blackwell carrying around a squishy white magic blob as he chants evil spells in what I have always assumed is Latin. The entire sequence was hands-down the most ridiculous thing this show has ever produced.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “The Departed”

May 11th, 2012

The Departed

E back again for the season 3 finale of The Vampire Diaries. Guys, “The Departed” was such a great episode; it’s going to be really hard to not type most of this in ALL CAPS. For real, this may be one of my favorite all time episodes…maybe of all shows…in all the history of the TV machine.

GIVEAWAY: Common Law Prize Pack – CLOSED

May 10th, 2012

common law

It is no secret that I adore USA Network shows, and this summer is full of new shows and old favorites (I am counting the days unttil Suits, White Collar and Necessary Roughness return!) One of these new shows is Common Law, which premieres tomorrow night at 10 PM. The show is about two cops (played by Michael Ealey and Warren Cole) with a problem – each other.  Despite their differences, they are incredible detectives. When things come to a head during their “seven-year itch” as partners, their captain forces them into couples’ therapy to save their “work marriage.” Sounds really fun, right? I am excited for the show and excited to offer this great prize pack! Keep reading to see how you can enter.

REVIEW: Make It Or Break It “Truth Be Told”

May 8th, 2012

Make-It-or-Break-It-Season-3-Episode-7-Truth-Be-Told-8

We are only one episode away from the series finale of Make It Or Break It, and I have to say, I’m pretty sad about it. While Make It Or Break It can be a bit drama-filled and cheesy at times, I think this season has been excellent and I wish we could see The Rock girls (and the others we have come to know and love/hate this season) go to the Olympics. Unfortunately, we will have to settle for knowing who makes the team. At this point, I think the three Rock girls are shoo-ins. But will Wendy’s devious way and Lauren’s heart condition stand in the way? We won’t have to wait too long to see.
