ADVANCE REVIEW: Parks and Recreation “I’m Leslie Knope” & Video Preview
September 22nd, 2011 by thetvchick
Parks and Recreation is back! And I couldn’t be more thrilled! I think it was easily my favorite comedy of last season (comparatively, I think it had a better season than Modern Family) and we pick up right where it left off. Leslie is in a meeting about her political future and she realizes she has to break it off with Ben. You guys, I love them together, don’t break up! Ahem. Anyway, the entire episode, Leslie is avoiding the inevitable and I can’t say I blame her. I obviously hope they are able to work something out even with Leslie running for City Council. Another big part of the episode is Ron’s preparation for his first wife, Tammy 1′s arrival. Let’s just say it involves a cabin in the woods.
“I’m Leslie Knope” was a very strong season premiere. Episode 2 is even better! Tom’s new company Entertainment 720 is maybe the best company ever. I want to hire Detlef Schrempf to just play basketball for my own personal amusement and have piles of iPads to give away. I know sometimes shows hit their peak around season three and then go into a slump, but I am happy to report that there are no signs of that happening with Parks and Recreation. If anything, I think it continues to get better and better. The addition of Adam Scott (Ben) and Rob Lowe (Chris) was absolutely brilliant. And I adore April and Andy together. And Ron Swanson is one of the best characters on television. Watch tonight’s premiere of Parks and Recreation. You will not regret it at all.
