REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Our Town”

Our Town

Hi All! E here again for some more TVD. This time, with “Our Town.”

We start with Damon taking a shower with a chipper smiler on his face. [Ed. Note: It would be just fine if every episode started like this.] Meanwhile, Elena is working out with a vengeance at Alaric’s place. Guess these two had different reactions to their kiss the night before? Alaric comes in to where Elena is and is like what the what?! Nice job punching that bag, you okay? They also talk about how Jer Bear is packing and how it’s probably a good thing since the no-die rings seem to have a shelf-life. In our other scene, Stefan comes in when Damon is getting out of the shower and is like get your self together, we need to meet Bonnie to do some witch stuff. Also, Stefan is still a D-bag. I liked this at first, but it’s starting to give me the sads. (Spoiler Alert Future E: If you think you have the sads now, wait until the end of the episode).

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “The New Deal”

January 6th, 2012

The New Deal

E here again (finally!) for some more Vampire Diaries with “The New Deal.” (What, what FDR.)

We begin with Bonnie traipsing through the witch house and she hears some hushed, indistinguishable talking (this sort of whispery voice crap always gives me the creepies). She comes across some coffins and opens one. Hey, it’s Klaus (yep, this is a dream). And he’s holding the witch necklace.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Homecoming”

November 11th, 2011

Homecoming

Okay, people. Were you ready for the ‘fall finale’ of The Vampire Diaries? I wasn’t. But, ‘Homecoming’ happened anyways (BTW, as I was preparing to watch it, I was like, I bet this episode is entitled Homecoming. And then it was. And I am awesome).

We start with Stefan and Klaus having a little chit chat on the phone where Stefan is like, oh hiii, your dad’s dead. Come to Mystic Falls, it will be rich! So, one hour earlier, Mikael, Elena, Stefan, and Damon cooked up a plan. They needed to be legit for Klaus because Stefan’s lying skills are off nowadays. Because of this (and the fact that vamps can’t kill originals without dying), Elena stabs him. Back to the phone call. Klaus is all, uhh, don’t really believe you, let me talk to my sissy. And sissy Rebekah sort of hates her brother now, so she’s like, yep, dad is totes dead. And Klaus is on his way! They pull the stake out of Mikael so they can continue hatching the plan. When Mikael wakes, Rebekah is there doing her nails. He’s like, hey daughter. And she’s like, you destroyed our family. You made us this, I hate you! You know, normal teenager stuff.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Ordinary People”

November 4th, 2011

THE-VAMPIRE-DIARIES-Ordinary-People-Season-3-Episode-8-7

E here again for some more of The Vampire Diaries – “Ordinary People.” After watching this episode, this title makes me feel sad in my sad place for the Originals Crew – they were just people, guys.

Okay, we start with Elena, Damon, and Alaric going back down to the Lockwood estate to figure out these cave drawings. Alaric has apparently really upped his game lately because he starts doing some interpreting. He’s able to read Niklaus, Rebekah, and Elijah on the wall (in Viking speak no less), oh snap. Then they all look at each other and are like, “What, the what?!”

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Ghost World”

Ghost World

E here, back for some more The Vampire Diaries…this time with “Ghost World.” I really enjoyed this episode because I simply love when past characters are brought back (from the dead).

We begin with Damon all chained up (as he should be…I mean, what? Never mind.) And stabbed. He thinks Stefan did it, but it wasn’t Stefan. It was a ghostly Mason who we can’t see (yet). Stefan does un-stabify him though (coined that phrase, like it?). But, he leaves him in the chains. Mason then opens the shades and suns him (he’d already taken his superhero ring off).

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Smells Like Teen Spirit”

October 21st, 2011

Smells Like Teen Spirit

Hot damn guys, I love this show so much. Just when I think, yeah, The Vampire Diaries is awesome, it goes ahead and gets a little more awesome. And “Smells Like Teen Spirit” proved that 10 times over.

We start with Elena in bed (we start that way a lot, I sort of like it as a plot device). Alarm goes off early because school sucks, and they make you show up at a ridiculous time. She puts her makeup on her bite and greets Alaric in the hallway. Hey, look, now she’s doing some slayer training before school with Alaric as her teacher/watcher/inappropriate but awesome guardian. She does some moves, and Alaric tells her she’s not strong enough, but then gives her a ‘you can do it’ pep talk.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “The Reckoning”

October 14th, 2011

The Reckoning

E back again for another episode of The Vampire Diaries – this time with “The Reckoning.” I love me a good reckoning.

We start with an empty school and some clanging. Oh, hey Matt. It’s just Matt lifting some weights in a dark room alone like a weirdo. He hears someone so he goes on an expedition like Lewis and Clark minus the Clark (he’s more of a Lewis). Dun Dun Dun…it’s just Elena and the rest of the gang setting some mousetraps in a classroom. It’s senior prank night so they’re getting their fun on Mystic Falls High Style. (Did this remind anyone else of how Buffy would try her darnedest to have a normal life amongst the madness?) Elena decides to go superglue Alaric’s desk chair, and she has a run in with Klaus. (This is why I love TVD – on most other shows we’d have to wait half the dang episode to get these crazy kids together).

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Disturbing Behavior”

October 7th, 2011

Disturbing Behavior

E’s back again for some more Vampire Diaries with “Disturbing Behavior.” And boy howdy was there.

We start back in Chicago again with Klaus, Stefan, and Rebekah out for a Pretty Woman style shopping spree complete with champagne and Rebekah modeling her new duds for the boys. She complains about the skankitude level of woman’s cloths in the 21st century, and Klaus reminds her that she wore pants so modern ladies could wear skirts up to their pupik (in case you are not my Jewish grandmother reading this, pupik = bellybutton in Yiddish). Stefan looks outside the shop and Katherine is standing across the street and gives him this cool head nod to come over there that I couldn’t pull off in a thousand years.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “The End of the Affair”

September 30th, 2011

The End of The Affair

E here for some more madness on The Vampire Diaries. This episode is entitled “The End of the Affair.” Well, that can’t be good news.

We start with Katherine calling Damon for a chat as he has his morning booze. There’s some banter, and we learn that she knows Klaus and Stefan are in Chicago.

We then visit the dynamic duo in Chicago (which is indeed one of Stefan’s old murder stomping grounds). Get ready for some flashbacks! We visit the 1920s because who doesn’t love to do the Charleston? All you need to know for the set-up here is that Stefan has ridiculous hair. And we see him killing a lady. Also, he visits a speakeasy where peeps seem to know him including the lounge singer. A vamp chick comes up to him and can still smell his recent kill on him. Sexy?

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “The Hybrid”

September 23rd, 2011

tumblr_lr9rzkwrmg1qft9dx

E here again for some more Vampire Diaries. This episode is entitled “The Hybrid.” I’m going to be honest, I wasn’t in love with this episode. I actually preferred the B and C plots more than Klaus trying to build his own weirdo army. And I do enjoy Klaus, I don’t know, I wasn’t digging it. But the whole thing is saved for me with the last 10 seconds of the episode, awesome.
