REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Growing Pains”

October 12th, 2012

TVDGP1

HEY PARTY PEOPLE. I am shouting at you…because it’s time for season 4 of The Vampire Diaries. Woo hoo, pound it out.

We start ‘Growing Pains’ with some sort of a new opening? Maybe? I don’t know. But I like it. Elena says, “I’m human, at least I was.” Oh nos.

Elena is now waking up with some heightened senses. She’s all confused, but learns that Matt is fine, phew. (Hatas gonna hate, but I’ve got some Matt love.) Damon and Stefan are catching her up on what’s she’s missed. She doesn’t want to be a vamp. They’ve got a few hours for Bonnie to come up with a solution as Bonnie’s level on the Badassity Meter is rising.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “The Departed”

The Departed

E back again for the season 3 finale of The Vampire Diaries. Guys, “The Departed” was such a great episode; it’s going to be really hard to not type most of this in ALL CAPS. For real, this may be one of my favorite all time episodes…maybe of all shows…in all the history of the TV machine.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Before Sunset”

May 4th, 2012

Before Sunset

“Before Sunset” is the penultimate episode of TVD’s season and we definitely had some drama!

We open with Alaric sitting at his desk like a creeper. Caroline is also at school talking to Tyler on the phone – Caroline has to take down dance decorations and Tyler had to pack up Klaus’s house because he’s ready to move on. Rebekah is also there cleaning up and is super bummed that she had to miss the dance and also that her mom is awful – her disappointment level is about the same for both perhaps? She also gives her condolences to Caroline re: Alaric. Speak of the vampire – Alaric takes Caroline hostage and starts a little torturing.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Do Not Go Gentle”

OK, so I wasn’t that hot on this episode. I felt bummed at the end of ‘Do Not Go Gentle.’ [Ed. Note: It also wasn't my favorite of the season. Good, but I was a bit bummed too.]

We open with Klaus talking to Rebekesther. She brings him the stake from Alaric, and he throws it into the fire. Problem solved! (Except not, because we’re only 1 minute into the episode). Klaus wants to leave town pronto, but Rebekesther wants to stay for the dance (because there are big doins’ yet to come).

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Murder of One”

March 30th, 2012

Good one TVD peeps, good one! We’re back to basics with “The Murder of One.”

We begin with Elena bringing food to Alaric, and Damon answering the door…and being shifty. Which isn’t anything that unusual. Elena knows something is up, but she lets it go for the most part which is sort of out of character. Anywho, she leaves. Stefan, Damon, and Alaric have become woodworkers and are making a small mess of fancy stakes. Alaric then starts to pack it in so that he can go turn his crazy, murdering self in. The boys are like, nah, don’t do that. So, he doesn’t. Man they have got some power this morning.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Break On Through”

March 23rd, 2012

ustv_vampire_diaries_s03_e17_4

I’m going to be honest; I thought this episode, ‘Break on Through’ was just aight. Not a ton happened, and what did was not that exciting.

We begin with Alaric getting an MRI. He’s looking at himself in the mirror in the MRI machine and the evil version of himself is peering at him. Weirdness. Dr. Fell and Elena are talking about how Dr. Fell just wants to help him because he is out of control right now. Of course nothing comes back weird on the MRI because it’s some mystical voodoo. He takes the ring off because I guess he doesn’t want the evil all up in his piece.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “1912″

March 16th, 2012

E back again for some more TVD – this time with “1912.” I was worried as I had been once before that this was going to be a “swim team” (See: http://thetvchick.com/flashback-fridays/flashback-friday-boy-meets-world-week-7/) episode, but once again I was pleasantly surprised. Not my favorite episode, but some interesting plot development…if you know what I mean, and I think you do.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “All My Children”

February 17th, 2012

TVD

Hi all, I’m here again to discuss some TVD. This episode, “All My Children” was another example of why this show continues to be one of the most exciting hours of television each week. For realz.

We start, as we often do, with Elena waking up. She calls Stefan, who ignores her call. But, she leaves a voicemail about having to talk to him. She then calls Damon (second after Stefan – second place is just 1st loser! – not that Damon is a loser, but to Elena, he loses. Whatever, you all get what I’m saying). He does pick up (while still in bed with Rebekah) and is super pissy with her because his feelings are hurt, seriously. Elena decides to stop by right as Rebekah is leaving (Awkward City, but I’m not sure who’s the mayor…probably Elena). He’s still all snippy and short with her even when she tells him about Mama Original’s plan to do her children in. He soooo doesn’t care about the demise of all those folks.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Dangerous Liaisons”

E back again for another lovely TVD episode, “Dangerous Liaisons.” (Which Rachael Green claims is her favorite movie, but it’s actually Weekend at Bernie’s…Friends anyone?). Anyway, solid episode with some more info about the Originals.

We begin with Matt and Elena leaving the hospital. Alaric is there for observation. Also, Bonnie and negligent mother are both fine. Caroline is sad, but okay. There are still no suspects for this attempting to murder/murdering peeps situation. Matt and Elena part ways to go home, and Elena bumps into someone with her car. She gets out, and it’s just Rebekah threatening her with death. Luckily, Elijah is there and is awesome and stops her. Mama Original will not stand for any murders on her watch. Elijah then tells Elena that they have some catching up to do.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Bringing Out The Dead”

February 3rd, 2012

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES

E back again for some more of this TVD business with “Bringing out the Dead.” (BRING OUT YOUR DEAD!!!) This episode is what makes the sauce awesome.

We start with a little brotherly brawl featuring Elijah and Klaus (refreshing change of pace from our usual dueling brothers). Klaus even removes the stake from one of the other brothers, Kol, and stakes Elijah. But, he doesn’t. He just puts it back in Kol after they decide to be in brotherly love again and destroy Stefan. Elijah also learns that Mikael is dead. Also, also, death has made Elijah even hotter.
