My thoughts on the Emmys

As predicted, Neil Patrick Harris was a phenomenal host. He made the 3+ hour long broadcast very enjoyable. His opening number was amazing.

I thought that most winners were very well deserving, but some were very predictable. Here are some people who I thought were snubbed:
Amy Poehler, Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy
Neil Patrick Harris, Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy
Motherlover Video, Saturday Night Live
Saturday Night Live for Variety Series
Dianne Wiest or Hope Davis for In Treatment
Mariska Hargitay for SVU or Kyra Sedgwick for The Closer
How I Met Your Mother or The Office for Best Comedy Series
I really thought that Neil Patrick Harris would win this year. And if he didn’t win, I had high hopes for the show. In Treatment is such an amazing show that I was shocked Dianne Wiest didn’t win two years in a row. But all in all, it was a fun show. I could have done without the Miniseries/Made for TV movie part that was incredibly long. And I’m not sure how I felt about the broadcast being broken up into different categories. However, I think this show (or really Neil Patrick Harris) guaranteed the Emmy Awards future on television.

I don't think SNL deserved the win. Though they stepped it up for their coverage of the election, the Daily Show really earned it this year.
I think the biggest snub was the Colbert Christmas. That was really smart, funny and creative. I think another big miss was Michael C Hall and Jimmy Smits for Dexter. Even though Michael J Fox was great, I think JS did amazing work throughout season 3 and deserved to win.

I like the Daily Show as well, I was just thinking SNL would win something.
Agreed about Colbert Christmas. I think that they actually took out the category Best Performance in a Variety or Musical. I couldn't find it on the Emmys site or anything…remember when Barry Manilow beat out Colbert?
I can't speak much to Dexter, but Michael C. Hall and Smits are great actors.
