Tonight is an all new episode of Pretty Little Liars and you know what that means: more drama, more twists and turns, and more of that pesky A. Last week’s episode gave us a peak into the lives of Toby and Jenna, Hanna’s family life, Aria’s love life and the aftermath of Spencer’s sister getting married. I recently had the chance to catch up with Troian Bellisario, who plays Spencer. She said we can expect to find out more about what happened the night A went missing and promised more cracks in Spencer’s perfection.

When you first signed on to the show did you anticipate it would be such a huge phenomenon?
Everybody was very excited about it, and they seemed to be behind closed doors like “This is going to be huge” And then outside of those closed doors they’d be like “Let’s hope!” So you never really know and I think everybody was really excited about it and really excited to work on it. But you never know.

Are you anything like Spencer at all?
I definitely [am] — my school work was really important to me, and I was definitely a perfectionist growing up. But she’s so much more put together than I ever was.

Are we going to see any more cracks in her perfection?
Oh yeah! I think that’s really all you’re going to see on this show.

What are we going to see with her romantic life? What’s coming up with that?
I can’t quite give that away just yet, but I can tell you it’s very, very awesome. I’m having a lot of fun filming it right now.

Do you have a favorite moment from filming the show so far?
I do, but I actually can’t talk about it. It’s this one scene that’s just beautiful and such a cool moment between Spencer and somebody you would never expect.

And what has been the biggest challenge for you?
My biggest challenge is always whenever we shoot flashbacks because we seem to be in the least amount of clothing possible, and it always seems to be at night. And so my biggest challenge is trying to act warm. That’s the hardest thing for me.

Can you talk about what we can expect this season?
You can expect a lot about Alison’s disappearance, what might have gone down between Spencer and Alison that night, and also Hanna before the cliffhanger knew who A was, so we’re going to find out about that.

What do you hope to see from Spencer this season?
I’m hoping that Spencer, it’s kind of more fun for me, when Spencer gets in more and more trouble. As much as I hope things go well for Spencer and want her life to be a beautiful happy ending, it’s kind of more fun when things go wrong.

Are you interested in branching out into movies?
Oh definitely.

Is there an actor or actress you most want to work with?
I would die to work with Cate Blanchett, she’s my hero.

Is there a role you’d want to be in?
I love period pieces. My favorite thing in the world is theater. Since I’ve been in New York, I’ve been so happy to see a show a night. So if I could go back on stage, I’d be so happy.
