April 5th, 2012 by thetvchick
Stay Dry With An Army Wives “The Storm Is Coming” Umbrella! I absolutely adore Army Wives. I think it is so lovely to see a show centered around a strong group of women. These best friends support each other through everything, and there’s a lot when you are an Army wife. Keep reading to learn more about the show and see how you could win an Army Wives umbrella!
“Army Wives,” Lifetime’s most successful series, follows the struggles, dreams and friendships of a diverse group of women — and one man — living with their spouses and families on an active Army post. The series films in Charleston, South Carolina, and stars Kim Delaney (Claudia Joy Holden), Sally Pressman (Roxy LeBlanc), Brigid Brannagh (Pamela Moran), Brian McNamara (Michael Holden), Sterling K. Brown (Roland Burton), Wendy Davis (Joan Burton), Drew Fuller (Trevor LeBlanc), Terry Serpico (Frank Sherwood) and Catherine Bell (Denise Sherwood).
Kelli Williams (“The Practice”) joins the cast this season, playing Jacqueline “Jackie” Clarke, the ambitious wife of two-star Major General Kevin Clarke. Television icon Susan Lucci (“All My Children”) makes several guest star appearances as Audrey, the wife of a retired Brigadier General, reuniting her with her former “All My Children” co-star Delaney.
To enter to win, leave me a comment with your favorite character from Army Wives. Is it Roxy? Claudia Joy? Or maybe Roland?
Winners will be chosen by Friday, April 13th.
The series is based on the book “Army Wives” by Tanya Biank, who serves as a show consultant. Tune-in to all new episodes on Sundays at 9/8

this is a hard question to answer…
favorite character…definitely not Denise (too weak)…loved Pamela, but she’s out…like Roxy, but I want her to get a better wardrobe (which seems like it’s happening this season, but we’ll see)…like Claudia Joy, but good gracious, her name is Claudia Joy! and while she’s the most balanced (in terms of being a strong woman with a full life, she’s still a woman behind her man) Then there’s poor Roland…they do a good job of not marginalizing him, but at times it’s odd that he doesn’t seem to have any guy friends. Joan is good, but a bit polarizing (I know, it’s hard being a woman in the armed forces). And that leaves me with the rest of the cast…the other men. They’re all fine…wished they had used Chase more.
Ok, so I haven’t answered…I’m going to pick Trevor. To me, he’s the most complex and stands on his own. The actor does a pretty good job with the role, navigating his professional and personal worlds.
I know, I didn’t pick a woman and that’s the point of the show…but the female characters all have a very specific role to play and I feel that at times, that limits them.
The end.

Roland Burton. He’s one cool dude. Wish I was always as calm and collected as him.

I think Roxy is the best character because she seems to be the most honest one that doesn’t really care what others think of her and she takes care of her family no matter what the circumstances.

I like Claudia Joy Holden the most. She’s such a strong woman. I hope she’ll be ok. I can’t wait to see tonight’s episode!
