  • I would have to say comfort food is my favorite. My dad is a chef so anything he makes that is homemade is always wonderful to eat. I LOVE a good homemade macaroni and cheese. However, he normally makes Italian foods like gnocchi, manocotti, ravioli, and tortellini in his Alfredo sauce, which is amazing. Being away at college really makes going home and having food made my him really special. During the summers when I’m home we make ravioli, sauces, soups, ect. together which is always really fun and brings the family together.

  • I would say that it is probably Comfort Food.
I love the traditional mac & cheese butthen there is the grilled cheese and pizza and brownies.
Comfort food includes both sweets and savory and traditional food that you just go to when you need to know that nothing has changed.

  • My favorite type of food is probably cakes and pies. Not that I don’t enjoy the comfort food or the spicy or party foods, it’s just that I’ve really gotten into pie baking recently. Apple, cherry, blackberry, even pear! I just need to do the blueberry and peach. Perhaps a cream pie? The possibilities are endless!!!!!

  • My favorite type of food is dessert. I don’t like to limit my love for dessert to one particular kind. I love all dessert equally. I plan my meals around my dessert, so I have enough room left over for the tasty conclusion to my meal. When I go out for dinner and I’m paying, it is required for everyone to order dessert. Dessert tends to get a bad wrap. It’s the first part of the meal that people cut out. I am on a one man mission to bring back the love of dessert.

I am a huge fan of tex-mex and since I live in Texas, I guess that would be a hometown favorite. We grill fajitas and have a secret family recipe for enchilada sauce. Mmmmm…. ☺
Salsas of every variety are a special fave. For me, this is comfort food, too. Thanks!

  • I thought long and hard about this as I am a lover a food in almost any variety – but I think I have to go with Party Foods! As in appetizers! To me, appetizers are full of so much flavor (I’m amazed how much chefs can punch into small bites). Finger foods, cocktails and catching up with good friends & family = the perfect combo.
Also, party foods can come from the other categories – Sliders for an example from the burgers category and mini cupcakes from the cake & desserts category. Kind of a win-win?! :)

  • Hometown Favorites. I never quite appreciated Cuban food until I was away from Miami. Tostones FTW.

  • Hot and spicy is the best! The hotter the better – mj

  • Comfort food? Mac and cheese hands down! Our favorite version includes mushrooms, bacon, a dash of truffle oil and truffle salt.

  • I love CAKE! All kinds – cupcakes, upside down, tiered or single sheets, I just love CAKE!! So Cakes & Desserts are right up my alley. I love to bake and try new recipes. Love Paula Deen’s southern sweet treats because I am from GA originally before moving to CA six years ago. But I love Ace of Cakes – they are so freaking talented! If I ever get to Baltimore I am going to Charm City Cakes!! One of my fav recipes of cake is one called ‘Almost Better Than Anything Cake’ by Betty Crocker – using German chocolate mix, I vary the ingredients to my liking but it’s still ‘Almost Better Than Anything’! However, if I could sample that awesome Harry Potter cake they made on Ace of Cakes – I’d be a happy camper!!

  • I love my burgers. Blue cheese, bacon and a little rough ground mustard. Yum!

  • My favorite “Dinner Party” food is Venison Bolognese on Angel Hair Pasta. It is a classic with a yummy twist and well recieved by my guests. It reminds me of home (NY) and is also a wonderful comfort food for me.

By the way, the “Food Network” Rocks!!!!

  • It’s gotta be the Cakes & Deserts as my favorite, but I love them all–especially Hot and Spicy and Burgers. A burger with Pepper Jack Cheese and Jalapenos, with a a slice of cake for dessert…mmmmm

  • Being from the South, my hometown favorites ARE comfort food, so it’s the best of both worlds – biscuits, grits, you name it!

  • When I was a kid, anytime I was sick, my mom made a plain potato soup. To this day when I’m ill this is the only thing I feel like eating. Otherwise, as an Asian, I think of homemade Chinese food as comfort food. Have to have my vegies everyday!

  • Ok so who doesn’t love desserts?? I know I do! Desserts and cakes and anything sweet is the perfect thing to please tour palate after a wonderful meal. Desserts ftw!

  • I love the Ultimate Recipe Showdown and I love cakes and desserts! Not only do I love eating desserts, but I also find baking to be a fun and challenging hobby. Plus, sharing what you make with friends and family is always rewarding.

  • Comfort food for me — always on the lookout for exceptional macaroni and cheese. Bally’s Big Kitchen buffet in Vegas, now closed, had great m&c.

  • comfort food!

  • Definitely hot and spicy!

  • I am a comfort food guy.. I like good old Mac and cheese, chicken and dumplings, home made pot pies, and the best chili with grilled cheese sandwiches that my mom use to make when I was younger. I still crave and make these today.

  • Comfort food is sooooo me. I lived on mac and cheese when I was younger. A good fried chicken will always bring me to my knees.
