The TV Chick

A new comedy that I have been waiting for since last summer when I watched the pilot is finally premiering tonight. Don’t Trust The B In Apartment 23 stars Krysten Ritter as Chloe, the ‘b’ in question and Dreama Walker (you know this lovely actor from playing one of Blair’s minions on “Gossip Girl” and evil Becca on “The Good Wife”) as June, a mid-western girl who seemingly has it all as she makes the move to New York City and loses it in a heartbeat. Her job goes the way of a Bernie Madoff type scandal and her boyfriend cheats on her (on her birthday!) with Chloe. Oh and did I mention, June moves in with Chloe. But my favorite part of the show is James Van Der Beek, who plays a hilarious and amazing version of himself. He’s best friends with Chloe, which is pretty fantastic. And let’s just say there’s a scene where The Beek gets a girl into bed by wearing the Dawson’s Creek flannel. Hilarious! Honestly, when I watched the show in the fall it was one of my favorite new comedies and I kept waiting for ABC to announce a premiere date. The cast is really fantastic and the writing is really funny. It’s a smart and unique premise, made even funnier by a famous person playing himself. A mid-western girl with big dreams could come across as cliched, but instead it is genuine and lovely. I adore this show and I hope everyone reading this will tune in tonight! I recently had the chance to chat with Dreama Walker about what drew her to the project, her favorite part about playing June and what we can expect to see with June’s love life this season.
