In NBC’s Revolution, Giancarlo Esposito plays Captain Tom Neville, the hard-nosed commander of the Milita, the group that presides over all free towns in the show’s post-apocalyptic world. While Esposito has a history of playing more sinister roles, in person, he’s is exactly the opposite – and when we sat down at Comic Con to talk about his new role, he was more than willing (in between jokes) to open up about his thoughts on the character as well as what he’s most excited to see on the show. “The more I think about this guy, the more I think he’s going to be a lot of fun,” Esposito shares. “He’s obviously an enforcer, a guy who has to keep people in line…I think he’s a master manipulator but he also has a temper in many ways and without him, there would be anarchy. And in the world of Revolution, where we have people trying to survive, he has to do what he has to do in order to create and sustain this Monroe Republic.”
