I am an Olympics fanatic. I absolutely love them, doesn't matter the season. I especially love figure skating and I am so thrilled that Evan Lysacek won the gold tonight. He deserved it. I also thought that Johnny Weir was underscored. I can't wait to watch the ladies' skate and the ice dancing.

I am also enjoying the snowboarding and the moguls. I can't believe the punishment their knees take in the moguls! Ouch! Oh, and I love speed skating, especially Apolo Anton Ohno.

As far as the coverage is concerned, I think it stinks the way NBC shows the events. Let's talk about skating, for instance. They open the evening's coverage with one skater, then they go to, let's say, snowboarding. Fine, we watch snowboarding for 20 minutes. Then they go back to skating and we get to watch another one or two skaters. Then back we go to snowboarding or luge or whatever for another 30 minutes. Finally, we go back to skating and get to see the rest of the skaters. Just show the sport from start to finish for heaven's sake! I know it's just a ploy to keep us watching all night long, but it stinks to do that.

Well, back to the tv for me so I can watch the late night coverage.

Ok, I've totally gotten into figure skating somehow. I love those Chinese pairs skaters and I'm totally pumped for the men's finals tonight. I also pumped for UFC this weekend, and I'd bet that the group of people pumped for both of those things is astonishingly small.

Also, the coverage isn't terrible, but the continued insistence on referring to the 2006 games as Turino drives me up the wall. It's not as if we constantly refer to foreign places by their local names, and every time they call it Turino instead of Turin it feels like NBC is continuing a four year old marketing campaign. It's dumb and annoying and dumb.

Also, I love Lost.

I am LOVING the Olympics....

If you figure out where to get the mittens let me know.

I have loved the coverage of the skating and ice skating, but found the snow board cross reporting to be insipid.
