INTERVIEW: Daniel Gillies (Elijah) from The Vampire Diaries

February 16th, 2012

Last week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries featured a very interesting development for some of our favorite new Mystic Falls residents, The Originals. Mama Original used Elena’s blood to put a spell on all the siblings, so if one dies, they all die. I think I speak for many when I say that I hope something goes wrong with this spell because I can’t stand the thought of  Klaus, Elijah or Rebekah leaving. (I’m sure I will come to love Kol as well. Finn needs to stop being all into his mother. But I digress.) I recently had the chance to chat with Daniel Gillies, who plays Elijah, about the spell, Elijah’s love for Elena and his and Damon’s unlikely semi-friendship. Gillies also had some ideas as to where The Originals could reside besides Mystic Falls, and one of them involves a very interesting choice of attire.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Dangerous Liaisons”

February 10th, 2012

E back again for another lovely TVD episode, “Dangerous Liaisons.” (Which Rachael Green claims is her favorite movie, but it’s actually Weekend at Bernie’s…Friends anyone?). Anyway, solid episode with some more info about the Originals.

We begin with Matt and Elena leaving the hospital. Alaric is there for observation. Also, Bonnie and negligent mother are both fine. Caroline is sad, but okay. There are still no suspects for this attempting to murder/murdering peeps situation. Matt and Elena part ways to go home, and Elena bumps into someone with her car. She gets out, and it’s just Rebekah threatening her with death. Luckily, Elijah is there and is awesome and stops her. Mama Original will not stand for any murders on her watch. Elijah then tells Elena that they have some catching up to do.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Bringing Out The Dead”

February 3rd, 2012

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES

E back again for some more of this TVD business with “Bringing out the Dead.” (BRING OUT YOUR DEAD!!!) This episode is what makes the sauce awesome.

We start with a little brotherly brawl featuring Elijah and Klaus (refreshing change of pace from our usual dueling brothers). Klaus even removes the stake from one of the other brothers, Kol, and stakes Elijah. But, he doesn’t. He just puts it back in Kol after they decide to be in brotherly love again and destroy Stefan. Elijah also learns that Mikael is dead. Also, also, death has made Elijah even hotter.

INTERVIEW: Joseph Morgan (Klaus) from The Vampire Diaries

February 2nd, 2012

The Vampire Diaries is back tonight, after what seemed like a very long week without it. When last we left our favorite residents of Mystic Falls, a certain original made his triumphant return (love you, Elijah!) What does this mean for Klaus? What about the others? I recently had the chance to chat with Joseph Morgan, who plays Klaus, one of my favorite supernatural beings. We talked about what’s coming up, why people root for Klaus, and he even asked me to establish the official Caroline/Klaus ‘shipper name. From searching, the consensus seems to be Carlaus (or Caralaus), so I’m going to go with that one. Edit: The common consensus seems to be Klaroline. You win, fans, you win. Whatever the name may be, I am excited about the possibility, even if they have a somewhat crazy history.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “The Ties That Bind”

January 20th, 2012

E back again for this week’s TVD with “The Ties that Bind” – now with extra parent issues!

We start with another Bonnie dream. Coffin. Klaus. Traps her in the coffin. She panics like whoa. Someone opens it. (At first, I’m like who is this? Did I forget a character? But, I didn’t – I’m too awesome for that). She tells Elena about the dream (and shows her the coffin stash); turns out it’s her mom that popped open the coffin in her dream.

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Our Town”

January 13th, 2012

Our Town

Hi All! E here again for some more TVD. This time, with “Our Town.”

We start with Damon taking a shower with a chipper smiler on his face. [Ed. Note: It would be just fine if every episode started like this.] Meanwhile, Elena is working out with a vengeance at Alaric’s place. Guess these two had different reactions to their kiss the night before? Alaric comes in to where Elena is and is like what the what?! Nice job punching that bag, you okay? They also talk about how Jer Bear is packing and how it’s probably a good thing since the no-die rings seem to have a shelf-life. In our other scene, Stefan comes in when Damon is getting out of the shower and is like get your self together, we need to meet Bonnie to do some witch stuff. Also, Stefan is still a D-bag. I liked this at first, but it’s starting to give me the sads. (Spoiler Alert Future E: If you think you have the sads now, wait until the end of the episode).

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “The New Deal”

January 6th, 2012

The New Deal

E here again (finally!) for some more Vampire Diaries with “The New Deal.” (What, what FDR.)

We begin with Bonnie traipsing through the witch house and she hears some hushed, indistinguishable talking (this sort of whispery voice crap always gives me the creepies). She comes across some coffins and opens one. Hey, it’s Klaus (yep, this is a dream). And he’s holding the witch necklace.

Best Television of 2011

December 29th, 2011

Best of 2011

It’s just about 2012, so it’s time for The TV Chick to reflect on the Best Television of 2011. And there was some amazing TV. Just when I thought I wouldn’t adopt a ton of new shows, a handful came along that just completely sucked me in. I was enthralled with a red sharpie and a plan, engrossed in the crazy world of a CIA agent and a rescued prisoner of war, laughed at the lovable antics and wonderful relationships in Pawnee, taken back to my awkward high school years, and rooted for an insane hybrid vamp-wolf who had no friends. Oh, and that only scratches the surface. I decided that instead of just a Top 10 list, I’d use fun categories. Make sure you weigh in with your favorites too!

REVIEW: The Vampire Diaries “Homecoming”

November 11th, 2011

Homecoming

Okay, people. Were you ready for the ‘fall finale’ of The Vampire Diaries? I wasn’t. But, ‘Homecoming’ happened anyways (BTW, as I was preparing to watch it, I was like, I bet this episode is entitled Homecoming. And then it was. And I am awesome).

We start with Stefan and Klaus having a little chit chat on the phone where Stefan is like, oh hiii, your dad’s dead. Come to Mystic Falls, it will be rich! So, one hour earlier, Mikael, Elena, Stefan, and Damon cooked up a plan. They needed to be legit for Klaus because Stefan’s lying skills are off nowadays. Because of this (and the fact that vamps can’t kill originals without dying), Elena stabs him. Back to the phone call. Klaus is all, uhh, don’t really believe you, let me talk to my sissy. And sissy Rebekah sort of hates her brother now, so she’s like, yep, dad is totes dead. And Klaus is on his way! They pull the stake out of Mikael so they can continue hatching the plan. When Mikael wakes, Rebekah is there doing her nails. He’s like, hey daughter. And she’s like, you destroyed our family. You made us this, I hate you! You know, normal teenager stuff.
