FALL TV PREVIEW – Eastwick
July 26th, 2009 by thetvchick
The new ABC drama Eastwick is based on the popular 80s move The Witches of Eastwick and the novel of the same name by John Updike. I wasn’t sure what to expect prior to watching the pilot, but I was pleasantly surprised. There’s magic, witches (at least we presume), and crazy happenstances but behind it all is a great concept. The three “witches” played by Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price and Jamie Ray Newman, are all charming. Their acting is refreshing and genuine. While the plot may be full of fantasy, the actresses keep the show grounded. The show also centers around friendship, and coming together to deal with real issues. I am interested to see how the show progresses, but I know I will definitely be watching in the fall. Sarah Rue and Paul Gross also star.
Eastwick premieres September 23rd at 10 pm on ABC. Make sure you tune in!

I'm looking forward to this one, being a fan of the original movie and the unaired 90s pilot (starring Marica Cross and Chris Evans). I've heard our friend Matt Dallas from Kyle XY is joining the cast as a love interest for Rebecca Romijn. I'm glad he found work.
